Verified ReviewerAnother disturbing experience with store management and indifference
I have shopped at WH for many years. I have seen their ability to manage a business deteriorate since being purchased by Amazon.
Recently, we used our Prime card and discovered that the poor software system failed to apply discounts. The management in the Bozeman store is weak and indifferent.
I complained to corporate and nothing happened. It's not a good feeling in a very competitive market with slim margins.
- Great variety and quality
- Little emphasis on customer experiences
Preferred solution: Train managers and don't ignore the customer who pays their salaries. Beware of fancy checkout equipment that does not work.

Verified ReviewerI was smeared and banned
This is my issue. I worked at Whole Foods Brooklyn as an Amazon shopper, from August 2019 to August 2022, when the position ended.
I also live a 5 minute walk away from this location, so it was the place where I did my shopping.
Basically, unknow to me during my 3 years as an employee, this chubby cashier guy in a leadership position didn't like me. So when the Amazon shopper position ended, I continued shopping for my food there, because it's the closest market to my house. So the guy sees me there August 28, 2022 (Everything is documented), and he didn't like that. (I don't even know his name).
On that day I talked with an employee named DJ, who unknown to anyone there, also worked for Amazon AND was a coworker of mine at the Amazon location.
She was the only person that I talked to on the floor, a co-worker of mine. Yet, on that night he created a case against me saying that I was there stalking somebody. (I talked with DJ days later, and despite me being accused of stalking, and her being the only person that I talked with on the floor, nobody had talked to her about me or my conversation with her. Yet the guy created a smear case stating that I was stalking somebody.
Dragging the manager and security into confrontations, basically manipulating them while he stays hidden.)
Knowing what was going on, after August 28, for my protection, I recorded each and every single trip that I took to Whole Foods with a hidden Go Pro camera. Everything is completely and utterly documented. (Videos and timestamped text messages.)
A few weeks went by and they finally learned that I do indeed live a 5 minute walk away, and so they can't get me on that. So what do they do now?
They now changed the narrative from me stalking an unknown person, to me invading the space of another employee, VV, who I got along very, very, very well with.
Though this all started on the day that I talked with DJ, they now changed the narrative to say that I invaded VV's space. With VV even saying that she's totally confused by the situation. (She also wished me good luck with the guy trying to ban me.)
So think about that. They tried to get me banned by saying that I was traveling from far away to stalk DJ or a nameless person.
And when they saw that I live a 5 minute walk away, they immediately changed it to me invading VV's space.
So after August 28, when the guy smeared me with stalking, this became a HUGE issue for me. My trips to Whole Foods were not frivolous at all, because of what the guy, with the manager where doing something so psychopathic. You know so many people there, because you worked there for 3 years and you just don't know what kind of smears they are spreading. As such, every single interaction that I had with VV, which were recorded, were about the chubby guy and the manager trying to ban me.
We talked about nothing else, because it's such a huge serious issue and nothing else matters, with like I mentioned earlier, her wishing me good luck with the guy trying to ban me.
So think about that, you have the security people following me around as soon as I walk into the store, my conversations with VV are about the fact that the manager and the chubby guy are trying to ban me. Very quick conversations because these guys are following me around and reviewing the security tapes. At what point am I going to start hitting on VV and invade her space? Someone who I've talked with for many, many hours when I worked there, I've never hit on her, and suddenly as I'm talking to her in a serious manner about the guy trying to ban me, I'm suddenly going to start hitting on her for the first time ever, and get too close to her.
So that the chubby guy and the manager, who are spying on me, and not VV herself, could say that I invaded VV's space.
So I'm writing, because it's been two years, and the contact person in my ban letter has never responded to my emails. And I just cannot let these corrupt people get away with this. What can I do to fix this? How can I get somebody to investigate, in a serious manner, the manager, Jeff the shift leader, and not just take their word just because they are the managers.
As if that automatically makes them pure, trustworthy people. Incapable of being dishonest, manipulative, malicious.
When I worked there, they couldn't do such a thing, because by policy I would have to be involved and defend myself, with words. And they really took advantage that once my position ended I couldn't do that.
So all I ask is for me to have the ability to verbally defend myself and for such allegations to be properly investigated. It's why free speech is so important.
- Very professional
- Self checkout

Purchased a good amount of groceries. Have a Prime Card.
They push you to self checkout by only having one or two checkout people. Amazon spent millions on software that does not work. Many unsuspecting customers will buy at WF using their Prime Card and not get their discounts and credit. That happened to us.
It took one hour of dealing with indifferent managers to get them to hand correct the invoice. I called corporate and complained. Never heard anything.
Lots of great options in Bozeman for our business. WF is a failed business model
- Some great products and employees
- Lousy management

BEWARE this Whole Foods...If i could give 0 stars I would ordered yesterday early afternoon, get updates through the day, message that "it's out for delivery" then at 9:00 pm "the order is canceled" I do chat with live person then who states "the order is coming, trust me I talked to driver" At 11 pm, Amazon customer service disconnects from my call because they can't help. This morning another Amazon customer service person disconnects because they can't help me..

Purchased a $500 apple card from whole foods in marietta ga on 11/5/2024 around 430pm. There was no code on card and the activation receipt didn't work.
Spent 5 hours on phone with apple. Conclusion was since it was bought from whole foods market and not directly from apple. The activation could would not work. The card is defective.
Since whole foods sold it, apple says whole foods must replace it.
All cards from whole foods in the marietta area were pulled as many customers are having the same problem. It has now been 6 days and no resolution. I'm ready to contact an attorney, Clark Howard or anyone else that will help get this resolved. You have my money.
I want a working card or my money back. PERIOD!!

Won't waste my time with corporate... obviously they don't care so why should I?Put this down as a learning experience.
Still no courtesy of a response. They even gave me a so-called 'customer CARE! case'#I wonder how many others get a case # but no response?Hmm...
Gave customer back his abuse...he complained...got fired... management says abuse OKAY.
Tried to get reinstated... filled out separation form multiple times... always told 'wrong'...do it again or 'I can't read it.' Do this on purpose?...if reinstated they have to give you back pay...an Amazon no-no! So far no answer from corporate office in Austin.
Don't want to ruffle feathers!
Only plus...non management team members great to work with. Old timers here wish for last mgmt.

I tried to get reinstated but kept getting the runaround. You have to fill out a 'separation form' which I did several times but was always told 'wrong web site' or 'I can't read it' (Kirsten Alten at Whole Foods Federal hwy.
Ft.Lauderdale FL.) I think they deliberately do this to frustrate you since if you get reinstated they have to give you back wages.Amazon(Whole Foods owners)don't like to part with $ if they can help it. So much for corporate nonsense.
If you want to work at a store where management encourages customer abuse, then this is the place for you. I was let go recently after retaliating to a customer's abusive behavior and he complained.
The head of the team leadership thinks she is a man, and the manager acts like an immature, giggling schoolgirl.
There are lots of informers! The only advantage is that fellow team members are nice and work as a team.
- Fellow team members
- Robot like management
Preferred solution: NA
User's recommendation: Deal strictly with team members

Verified ReviewerReturn refusal
I'm writing to you because I'm upset about your refusal to replace a single avocado that I purchased. When I cut into it the same day that I purchased it, I discovered that it was partially rotted and inedible.
Upon my next shopping trip a few days later, I asked the cashier if I could get a replacement, and she politely refused, saying that I didn't follow the official return policy. This kind of thing really upsets me, to say the least, given the fact that billions are lost in theft and deceptive returns. But because I'm honest, I'm victimized? After reading your return policy, I understand it, but I've never had reason to know it in the past, as I've never needed it for groceries.
I could easily get 100 times more if I decided to deceive you with my Amazon account, which I suppose is acceptable and preferable as opposed to applying trust to an honest customer. Respectfully,
- Lots of pros
- Few

Verified Reviewer |The worst customer service
Whole Foods has good food. This location is VERY BADLY RUN.
The worst are the customer service people -- at the self-checkout and when you go through the aisles.
The people working behind the counters (seafood, meat etc.) are all fine and the people restocking are very helpful
but the ACTUAL CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIFIC.
The worst are all women. Here are a few monsters to be aware of:
1. red haired woman (probably dyed hair) looks mannish at the self-checkout with glasses sometimes. She will bark at you.
Always bad tempered and always gossiping with other staff and always rude. You can count on her being rude
2. Mexican/Latin American woman with a thick accent who is very rude. Also at the "self checkout"
Then there are the people with the attitude when you are checking out.
No grocery store do they behave so badly.
All of them need to be retrained. These first two should be fired.
They are so rude to people.
Why would anyone put up with this? Buying groceries is not torture.
There are also some weird people hanging out in the parking lot.
Every employee has to be retrained and the worst ones like these two, thrown out.
- Whole foods has good food
- Customer service
- Aggression
- Rudeness
User's recommendation: Watch out for the terrible customer service.

Verified Reviewer |Experience was unacceptable and want to warn potential customers
I placed an order for grocery delivery. At the expected delivery time I received a text and an email saying my groceries had been delivered.
But they were not outside my door. So I checked the delivery photo and it showed a front door somewhere else at my more than 100 unit multiple building condo development. Not my door. The number on the door was not visible.
I have no way of knowing where those perishable groceries including chicken and fish were delivered. Or when the people who have those groceries outside their door will find them. They could be on vacation. There is no doubt if the bags sit there that animals will find them.
Whole Foods refunded me (all but the tip!) but insisted they could not contact the delivery person to retrieve them. The local Whole Foods store said it had nothing to do with them.
An hour on the phone with robots and someone in another Country gave the same response, We cannot reach anyone to get the groceries picked up. So basically Whole Foods has left rotting food outside a door somewhere that is not my door or unit number and refuses to do anything about it.
Preferred solution: Groceries retrieved and discarded from wrong location where their delivery person left them. Otherwise they will rot and attract animals.
User's recommendation: Don’t order grocery delivery from Whole Foods
Store decline providing good service
For the past year your grocery store located in Edgewater, New Jersey has been not properly stocked up. I am a regular shopper at your store for years and I been seeing the decline in the way your store is being run.
Every Sunday when I go to buy groceries whether I go early morning, midday or early afternoon there's no food carts available. One has to go back to the parking area to find one. Many times you don't have organic avocados, salads, bananas, 365 orange juice, 365 original water crackers, organic eggs and fresh bread. Sixty percent of the times I go to buy a rotisserie chicken and there's none to buy.
The salad bar went from a four star to a one star.
Most of the time the food is dry, salads old...not a great selection to choose from as years ago. We shoppers pay extra money to shop at Whole Foods therefore better service should be provided.
Rude customer service at checkout
Mount pleasant location for Charleston SC. There is a rude woman - several when you check out.
Self checkout as they dont bother to actually have anyone. Then they are rude when something doesnt work
This one is the red haired probably dyed hair - the woman who looks like a man and is always ready to lose a temper. That creature. Worst service.
Do you have to endure bad service to buy groceries?
Then there is a Mexican Latin woman kissing up to a few select customers and treating everyone else badly.
Then there is the nosy fat black wonan who asks way too many personal questions. Which idiot or rude creature do you want to endure today?
These are all women.
User's recommendation: Avoid self checkout and stay clear of these creeps
Bad peaches

Verified Reviewer |Shopping Experience. gina.5.fs@***.com
On 5/16/24, 1128a - 1229p. I was shopping at the Whole Foods location located at 13998 Cedar Road in University Heights, Ohio.
While I was looking at a shelf debating whether I wanted to add an item to my grocery list, a black female approached me & asked me for money. I told her, "Get away from me." The black female, (holding a shopping basket of groceries inside of the basket, then threatened me. As she walked away, she said, "We don't need your money." (I don't know & I don't care who "We" are.) & she's lucky that I didn't pepper spray her. I stated that I was going to find a manager to report her.
I walked to a young black male cashier. The black female customer / nuisance then walked to the same checkout line & stated that she was going to bust my head open. At that point, I thought about pepper spraying her but I decided to walk away & tell an older black female cashier who wears eye glasses. The female cashier waved a white male employee over to us who was standing at the customer service desk - possibly the manager.
As I told him what had occurred, the black female nuisance then rushed to a black male security guard. The black male security guard then walked up to me & I told him what had just occurred. He then showed me his badge as I walked him over to where the black female nuisance had approached me. He then walked away as I continued to shop, debating putting my shopping basket down & walking out of Whole Foods permanently.
After I was finished shopping, I sat in the cafe area, (what I usually do).
The black female cashier with eye glasses sat at a table on my left-hand side. I asked her if the black female nuisance was still in the store?
The black female cashier responded that they "put her out."
I have been shopping at Whole Foods Market since they were Wild Oats that was located on Chagrin Blvd., Woodmere, Ohio. I will change that immediately if this is the behavior that I will have to put up with.
- 365 organic dried mangoes
- 365 organic frozen blueberries
- Lack of choices of non-biologique organic fruits-not frozen
- Biologique fruit that is larger than normal-sized fruit
- Behavior from a nuisance
Preferred solution: If this is the type of behavior that I will have to put up with, I will find another grocery store where I'll buy my groceries.

I have a bearded dragon as a service animal. She doesn't go on the floor and she doesn't have hair.
She sits on my body, covered up with a blanket, and the woman who told me I couldn't have her in the store is mistaken. She's gentle and doesn't bite. She has a leash and I don't put her on the floor. I think this is disgusting.
I'm upset. I'm a senior citizen and I've never encountered this in my entire life. The other grocery stores don't have a problem with it, nor do shopping centers or places like Earth café or Starbucks. I have taken her to several places.
