Religious vegan discrimination

AI Highlights
  • - Vegan customer received animal carcass and hot dogs.
  • - Requested full refund and tip reversal.
  • - Alleges discrimination; staff Liz and Hadold.
Whole Foods Market - Religious vegan discrimination

I am a religious strict vegan. I had placed an order with Whole Foods through Amazon today.

In the notes, I stated that I am a strict Vegan and please do not place any food that is not vegan into my cart or bring it to my house.

However, and I don't know how this happened, but it doesn't matter I was delivered animal carcass, hot dogs I contacted Amazon/WholeFoods Customer Support and explained the situation and that I am appalled and revolted, and this is horrific action that brought an animal carcass into my Vegan home. I had to dispose of the groceries and ask for a full refund and that the tip for the fulfillment should be reversed.

I was advised that they would not do anything about this other than refund the amount for the hotdog

I view this as a matter of religiousdiscrimination!

These are the two people with whom I dealt with:

Liz - supervisor

Hadold - customer support

User's recommendation: Avoid online purchases. Avoid Whole Foods if you are vegan

If your “religious veganism” warrants wasting the other food in your order by throwing it out and WF’s money by demanding a full refund (because an unopened pack of hot dogs was included), that speaks more poorly about your “religion” than WF’s mistake.

Guest

Religious discrimination? Nice try. You should have “disposed” of the order back at Whole Foods.

Guest

Blame yourself for this. If you have such special needs, go to the store and pick out your own food.

Whole Foods Market - Racial Profiling Needs To Stop - Image 2

The location is in Midtown Atlanta, GA. Store location is: 22 14th St NW Ste.

C Atlanta, GA 30309. I'm a young man of color skin who moved to Atlanta to establish my music business. My woman and I live not too far from this Whole Foods Market location, so we've decided to buy the green sturdy bags in a light sports backpack because we like to walk to the store because it's just convenient for us. We've gone here hundreds of times and I'm not exaggerating either.

This store has all Black officers mostly who are constantly staring at me and her and sometimes following me around the store, making it obvious that I'm being followed like I'm a thief or a criminal. Today I went alone to pick up a few things and I couldn't ignore that I was being stalked by this officer who didn't even have the decency to smile or say hello but just followed me the entire time. I spent $70 on a few items and if this is what it has come to in Whole Foods in Atlanta from Black police officers racist against us real men of color, then I'm gone. If you're a young man of color, you're probably going to experience this racism at Whole Foods Market.

But here's the funny part of it all: these Black officers at this location will risk their lives to protect some food that's not even really organic! Lol! One thing I can say about the South that hasn't changed and I think will never change is the house (N...s) are still loyal to their slave masters and won't hesitate to hate and destroy people that look shades of skin similar to them because they hate themselves. I'm not saying criminals aren't entering this location or any establishment to do such activity, which makes it hard to trust men that look like me, but damn...

everyone isn't a thief or up to no good just because they wear a backwards hat and a do-rag. Ignorant and simple-minded people will remain just where they are in this life. I'm going to hold my head high because God made me this way. I love my style of clothing.

I love being the color I am, and I'm proud of the *** I've overcome in my life like this.

I will be successful in life and I will continue to treat everyone with kindness and respect even though some don't deserve it. God will even this out for me and people like me.

Pros:
  • Most of the employees there
  • Some great products and employees

Preferred solution: The Police Officers Sargent to train them correctly, not to single out every young man of color and treat them this way, making customers like myself feel unwelcome to shop in peace especially when we have a current paying AMAZON MEMBERSHIP

User's recommendation: If you're and man of color and you're going to this Whole Foods Market in Midtown Atlanta, GA, be prepared to be followed and stared at as if you're a piece of garbage.

Your writing style and the attitude that it portrays screams THUG. I have no doubt that you act and talk in this business the same.

Each of the hundreds of times you and “your woman” encounter the “house N$@!?#” who is “risking their life protecting food”. Those references of yours self-profile you (as likely do your accompanying actions and attitude in public) and are the reason why your post is your reality.

A thousand upvotes!

Breahna Ibo

How is it profiling if they are the same color as you. Face it you are ASHAMED to be of color. They are probably following you around because of your backpack, not color.

Guest

You aren't going to make it in Atlanta or in the music business with that giant chip on your shoulder and that r @ c i s t, entitled attitude against people of your "own kind". Atlanta doesn't sound like the place for you AT ALL! YOU need to go touch grass and YOU need to do better, shed that paranoid, "everyone is after me" attitude and stop acting like a victim.

Guest

"I love being the color I am", no you don't. You walk around paranoid and acting like a victim. Nothing to hide, then go about your day regarding of what they're doing.

Wow. Your nonconstructive comment helped no one, not even yourself. If you've never experienced something like this, just say so.

Doesn't mean it doesn't happen. Go touch grass.

They are ASHAMED of being colored. That is why they are ASSuming they are being profiled because of it.

Complaint about the behavior of an Amazon Returns employee at Whole Foods Market

  • - Whole Foods Amazon Returns staff were rude.
  • - Refused to accept return, sent to kiosk; shouted 'Terrible? Thats you' and refused to provide name.

Complaint about the behavior of an Amazon Returns employee at Whole Foods Market (July 31, 7:00 PM)

Hello,

I would like to file a complaint about the rude and unprofessional behavior of an employee at the Amazon Returns counter inside Whole Foods Market, located at 21105 Biscayne Blvd, Aventura, FL 33180.

The incident occurred on July 31, 2025, at around 7:00 PM. We came to return an Amazon item.

After waiting in line, we approached the counter, but the employee a young woman with a ponytail refused to accept the return and directed us to use the self-service return kiosk.

We returned to the counter, as we were unsure how to use the kiosk since it was our first time using the return machine. (We have returned items through Amazon before, but always directly through staff.)

The employee told us she was too busy and refused to assist. We then approached a second employee (a young man), but she told him not to help us and sent him to move boxes instead.

At that point, a line of about 1520 people had formed, and other customers were clearly frustrated. I politely asked her to begin taking returns to help reduce the line, but she still refused.

Eventually, she accepted our return.

After submitting negative feedback on the screen and selecting that the service was poor, the employee shouted at me: "Terrible?

Thats you."

When I asked for her name, she refused and said she was not obligated to provide it. I find this behavior completely unacceptable and far below the standards of customer service.

I kindly ask that this incident be reviewed and that appropriate action be taken.

Sincerely,

Preferred solution: Apology

She sounds like a B****, but I wouldn't have asked for her name as in this day in age, it's not safe to give. Also, she would be have been the only one matching that description.

You need to submit this directly to the store manager.

Also, if you have a UPS store nearby, they are excellent with Amazon returns. I have noticed with Whole Foods, it does tell you it's self-service though the employee should have been friendly about it.

Telling you she is busy is NOT rude.. Also, her name is NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS.

Their wonderful looking fruit pies are actually highly unhealthy...

AI Highlights
  • - The pie looked wonderful and the pastry was good.
  • - It tasted of fresh cherries but was overwhelmingly sweet.
  • - Sugar was over 60%, with about 30% added.

I bought a half cherry pie at Whole Foods recently. Looked wonderful and the pastry of it was pretty good.

I tasted the fruit in it and i could tell it was made with fresh cherries... but... I found it overwhelmingly sweet, beyond tolerance. I looked up the ingredient information on the back of the box and found a total of over 60% of sugar in its content!

Half of it comes from the ingredients (cherries and god knows what else) but they add another 30% of sugar to it!

Considering that Whole Foods advertises itself as promoting healthy food and wants to "educate" customers as to how to eat in a healthier way...

I find this amazing! This level of sugar will send anybody to the pre-diabetic category!

and if they are diabetic, straight to the ICU...

The boss in the pastry and bakery department should be questioned about this very unhealthy recipe. It is not necessary to contribute to get people sick and pretend they are all for health...

Very disappointed.

A regular client.

User's recommendation: If you care about sugar levels and health.... read the label first and maybe buy something healthier.

I was smeared and banned

Whole Foods Market - I was smeared and banned
Original review updated Sep 08, 2024

This is my issue. I worked at Whole Foods Brooklyn as an Amazon shopper, from August 2019 to August 2022, when the position ended.

I also live a 5 minute walk away from this location, so it was the place where I did my shopping.

Basically, unknow to me during my 3 years as an employee, this chubby cashier guy in a leadership position didn't like me. So when the Amazon shopper position ended, I continued shopping for my food there, because it's the closest market to my house. So the guy sees me there August 28, 2022 (Everything is documented), and he didn't like that. (I don't even know his name).

On that day I talked with an employee named DJ, who unknown to anyone there, also worked for Amazon AND was a coworker of mine at the Amazon location.

She was the only person that I talked to on the floor, a co-worker of mine. Yet, on that night he created a case against me saying that I was there stalking somebody. (I talked with DJ days later, and despite me being accused of stalking, and her being the only person that I talked with on the floor, nobody had talked to her about me or my conversation with her. Yet the guy created a smear case stating that I was stalking somebody.

Dragging the manager and security into confrontations, basically manipulating them while he stays hidden.)

Knowing what was going on, after August 28, for my protection, I recorded each and every single trip that I took to Whole Foods with a hidden Go Pro camera. Everything is completely and utterly documented. (Videos and timestamped text messages.)

A few weeks went by and they finally learned that I do indeed live a 5 minute walk away, and so they can't get me on that. So what do they do now?

They now changed the narrative from me stalking an unknown person, to me invading the space of another employee, VV, who I got along very, very, very well with.

Though this all started on the day that I talked with DJ, they now changed the narrative to say that I invaded VV's space. With VV even saying that she's totally confused by the situation. (She also wished me good luck with the guy trying to ban me.)

So think about that. They tried to get me banned by saying that I was traveling from far away to stalk DJ or a nameless person.

And when they saw that I live a 5 minute walk away, they immediately changed it to me invading VV's space.

So after August 28, when the guy smeared me with stalking, this became a HUGE issue for me. My trips to Whole Foods were not frivolous at all, because of what the guy, with the manager where doing something so psychopathic. You know so many people there, because you worked there for 3 years and you just don't know what kind of smears they are spreading. As such, every single interaction that I had with VV, which were recorded, were about the chubby guy and the manager trying to ban me.

We talked about nothing else, because it's such a huge serious issue and nothing else matters, with like I mentioned earlier, her wishing me good luck with the guy trying to ban me.

So think about that, you have the security people following me around as soon as I walk into the store, my conversations with VV are about the fact that the manager and the chubby guy are trying to ban me. Very quick conversations because these guys are following me around and reviewing the security tapes. At what point am I going to start hitting on VV and invade her space? Someone who I've talked with for many, many hours when I worked there, I've never hit on her, and suddenly as I'm talking to her in a serious manner about the guy trying to ban me, I'm suddenly going to start hitting on her for the first time ever, and get too close to her.

So that the chubby guy and the manager, who are spying on me, and not VV herself, could say that I invaded VV's space.

So I'm writing, because it's been two years, and the contact person in my ban letter has never responded to my emails. And I just cannot let these corrupt people get away with this. What can I do to fix this? How can I get somebody to investigate, in a serious manner, the manager, Jeff the shift leader, and not just take their word just because they are the managers.

As if that automatically makes them pure, trustworthy people. Incapable of being dishonest, manipulative, malicious.

When I worked there, they couldn't do such a thing, because by policy I would have to be involved and defend myself, with words. And they really took advantage that once my position ended I couldn't do that.

So all I ask is for me to have the ability to verbally defend myself and for such allegations to be properly investigated. It's why free speech is so important.

Pros:
  • Very professional
  • Self checkout

Preferred solution: Information

User's recommendation: Whole Foods is great as a company. My issues are rogue individuals.

Know how you feel. I was recently terminated from my position at Whole Foods in Davie FL.

for giving a customer back his abuse. Management called me in 5(!) days later and their attitude was 'the customer is always right.' You treat people like you want to be treated.

Tried to get reinstated but got the runaround. Corporate in Austin refuses to answer my concerns.Expected this from Amazon owned company...they don't even belong to BBB.

The insurance in contact me and I had to go back to the store. Then after the agent spent months he told me it wasn't covered. I had sent him photos. When originally happens I called the police and when the police came the manager of the store said they didn't have to write a report because the store was taking care of it.

Apparently that was not true. I've tried to reach the area management and also executive management but there's no help.

Purchased a good amount of groceries. Have a Prime Card.

They push you to self checkout by only having one or two checkout people. Amazon spent millions on software that does not work. Many unsuspecting customers will buy at WF using their Prime Card and not get their discounts and credit. That happened to us.

It took one hour of dealing with indifferent managers to get them to hand correct the invoice. I called corporate and complained. Never heard anything.

Lots of great options in Bozeman for our business. WF is a failed business model

Since whole foods sold it, apple says whole foods must replace it.

All cards from whole foods in the marietta area were pulled as many customers are having the same problem. It has now been 6 days and no resolution. I'm ready to contact an attorney, Clark Howard or anyone else that will help get this resolved. You have my money.
