We ordered a customized cake for a birthday that didn't turn out as expected. We are huge fans of the Chantilly lace cake and decided to order that for customization.
Buttercream was used as a substitute for the original cream which we were made aware of at the time of order. We asked that blue and purple colors be added as an ombre effect. Nobody called for the final pricing until 1 hour prior to scheduled pick up time. When we picked up the cake, the colors were just mixed around and not ombre but we ended up paying 17 dollars extra for the decor ($50 total).
The cake itself didn't have much fruit inside like we're used to with the premade Chantilly lace cakes.
The buttercream frosting also wasn't that great and none of the guests liked it :( We had to add the gold chocolate beads and figuirine to make it look presentable. We are dissapointed that this cake didn't turn out as well as the pre made cakes we are used to at Wholefoods.
