Whole Foods put me thru a three interview process and intensive " training" which consisted of very little training and a whole lot of talking. Register training was " here do this" with no explanation and after two days, you were left on your own with the explanation of " your pod mate will answer any issues you have, or yell for a supervisor" ( sometimes 50-60 feet away) most of the time unavailable.

Management claims to be super stars, but dont be fooled, this is retail at its worst....the upper management does not communicate well, they love pulling you aside and explianing your screw up even thou another employee told you to do the same thing a compleltly different WAY!! And, when you screw up in the most minor way, ( NO MISTAKES ALLOWED HERE) you are pulled out in front of the entire cashier or department line and ripped apart. You are to amass and MEMORIZE ( even customers comment on it)an incredible amount ( 10,000+ PLU codes) of knowledge in a two day ( see above) " training" course..in addition to all the other little issues that may or may not pop up. When an issue does pop up, mangement is either to busy, your pod mate is disgusted at being bothered, so YEP you are on your own.

The other employees discriminate ( think high school clicks on crack) talk liberally about drinking, smoking and partying..and talk down to and generally treat new people like ***...you are basically treated like a outsider, unless you fit into the " whole food click" Most managers and superviors drink right at the barn after work...supposdly there is a two drink minimum, HAhAHAhAhA!!

If you are a cashier, your job is not only cashiering, but you have to go gather carts in all weather, all day...they also have "CC" days in which ALL DAY you bag, clean, and throw trash as well as...yes...get carts...six at a time, pushing over 100lbs usually up hill. You are also required to go to the back of house with all the bottles, cans and other recycles and take care of them.

Breaks: one 15 minutes: AFTER you go get carts or some other job...ONE 30 minute OFF CLOCK...and last a 15 minute "knowledge break" in which you are to go WORK on your last break on the computer for Whole Foods classes.

I was sandbagged by upper mangement and brought to the back office with no written or verbal warning for an infraction that I was totally honest about. They fired me for my honesty and I am now filing a wrongful termination suit aganist Whole Foods. I used to love this company and used to always shop there, but I have seen that now they are becoming corporate and trying to slide by with overpricing and non-green packaging, as well as shoddy mangement techniques and very poor morale.

At all costs, avoid working here!

Reason of review: Employment.

Monetary Loss: $550.

I need a lawyer. I was just fired from WF for stealing time, being unable to accurately account about my whereabouts.

This was due to the fact I was having a panic attack. I have an accommodation with full medical disclosure for this exact situation. Anyone have a lawyer recommendation for ADA, wrongful firing, bullying/harassment.

Failure on WF to follow their disciplinary procedures according to their handbook. I've been turned down by lawyers because it's whole foods...

hey glad you were able to get a settlement or what not. how was the process and how long did it take to settle all this? also, did issues like harassment, emotional distress and defamation of character arise?
