On March 10th I was in the P Street store in NW Washington DC and will simply summarize my experience by saying it is the last time I will go into this Whole Foods or any other. The store was so poorly stocked it was ridiculous, standing water all over the floor in the produce isle, abandoned produce carts blocking access to the food, lines at the check out OMG 20-min.

waiting in line while the cashiers move like turtles no care in the world that people are putting their carts aside and leaving. In the Washington DC area the majority of the Whole Foods is just this same way so it is not store specific - the staff is rude and could not be bothered with you, many don't even have a command of the English language. This web site and Whole Foods corporate web site advise you to contact each store specific manager to discuss your concerns - well good luck with that one! A store manager in Whole Foods that responds to a call for customer service, once in P Street have I had a manager respond and all other times, including my effort to reach the Mid-Atlantic corporate office they could care less which IS the corporate culture at Whole Foods regardless of what they preach.

From roaches falling off the bread truck in the Rockville store to a roach on the danish in the Falls Church store to filthy bathrooms, filthy stores, rude employees I have had enough. There are other stores that sell organic and many of the very same products Whole Foods sells and I will be happy to pay less for no service than more for bad service.

Better yet, visit Vitacost on the web and purchase 90% of the health and beauty aids Whole Foods sells at 1/3 (really, 1/3) the price and free delivery no tax. Whole Foods is whole trash.

Location: Washington, District Of Columbia

Never had a problem at any Whole Foods with customer service/cleanliness/stocked shelves. The one in Buckhead Atlanta is particularly awesome. I will say this: if you do have a problem with an individual store, Corporate will tell you directly and smugly that they allow each store to operate as it's own entity, to which a friend of mine who actually had a customer service problem, begged the question "then what is the point of having a Corporate office"?
