Whole Foods Market - Customer Care Review from Hoboken, New Jersey

3.0
Details
This review is about the Princeton, NJ, store. It's the beginning of September 2016 and for 4 or 5 months now, management has been loudly playing noise, aka music, throughout their store. I have asked at their Customer Service desk if they could turn the music down, but after consulting with their manager, no change was made. And I was told at the Customer Service desk that they couldn't turn it down. Tried sending an email hoping that their management would address this issue and got no response. The music sounds like an amateur band practicing for the first time. Then prior to this, they had one toilet in their handicapped stall that would disperse toilet contents on the floor when flushed. They were told about it but I still saw the same issue on a subsequent visit. It's my impression that the management of this store doesn't intend to address customer concerns because their executive office is non-responsive. It's a shame really because we spend a lot of money at this store. To be fair this location does have a few conscientious employees working here, especially a man in Produce. Unfortunately I cannot recall his name.

Whole Foods: the rudest store | Whole Foods Market review from Venice, California

...And try calling the headquarters in Austin to make a complaint! Nobody picks up the phone! After listening to endless recordings, you can leave 10 voicemails... Nobody will ever return your call. Try emailing them... Nobody will answer your email (have been waiting 5 months). Try sending them a letter... No response here either. This is the way I see it: they would rather hide than face the embarrassment of a bad mistake of one of their team members (which is what I wrote them about). I was one of their best customers, spending on all kinds of supplements, organic foods and gift cards. Luckily - as my friends have had me notice - you can now find organic food in almost every supermarket! No, we don't "need" Whole Foods like we did 10 years ago... And being treated nicely (with no macho security guards following and policing people!!) is what you'll find at other stores!

Rude Employees | Whole Foods Market review from Silver Spring, Maryland

I go to one in Rockville, Maryland. The employees are from 3rd world countries there and desparately need training in basic manners/customer service. They're always rude. They take food items like rolls out and handle them - things any employee should know is NOT okay. They also are jerky in the cafe area. I've had to ask them not to sweep my feet/wipe table while I'm eating (if I've paid $10 for lunch I'd like to be able to enjoy it in peace). I've also had them take my cart twice while I was trying to eat, once with food in it which I found deposited on another table. And the second time with my cane in it (I'm disabled) and after I found an employee, they said they'd look for it, but after I waited 1/2 hour, I limped to the service desk and it was standing against the wall. The man I originally asked for help was behind the counter. He'd been too lazy to return it to me. I love the store but the employees make it a drag!

Favorite brands disappearing, Cheaper brands at higher prices, Hype | Whole Foods Market review from Los Angeles, California

2.3
Details
This is not about one store or one product, it is about a bad trend in all of the WF stores. Our family has shopped at WF markets since they began in our city. We liked the large variety of organic and gluten free items. Our supplements and cosmetics were in abundant supply - once. Now, our favorite brands are hard to find, or gone from the shelves. In their place are poor brands, at high prices. Most shoppers do not want trendy items or hype, for example, you can't find your regular brand of plain corn chips but (their buyer must be a teenager) instead they have chipotle, Cajun or bubble-gum flavored corn ships. WF has a mission of supporting "fair trade", third-world, etc. This is only 'code' for replacing the good US brands that used to be on their shelves with lower-quality goods and outsourcing labor. How about the idea of supporting small US growers and small businesses? Not trendy, I guess. We still find a few of our items in WF, but spend a lot more time shopping in other organic & GF stores.
