Whole Foods Market Customer Care Review from New York, New York

I shop regularly since the new Whole Foods opened on Upper East Side in New York City - and I sent an email to their customer service about how rude some of their employees are (with the exception of some stock personnel, seafood; butcher and charcuterie dept). The cashiers are just awful and have yet to receive a reply. I continue to shop there because I like buying organic. If they hate their job so much they should consider quitting instead of making people's shopping experience a bad one.

Favorite brands disappearing, Cheaper brands at higher prices, Hype

This is not about one store or one product, it is about a bad trend in all of the WF stores. Our family has shopped at WF markets since they began in our city. We liked the large variety of organic and gluten free items. Our supplements and cosmetics were in abundant supply - once. Now, our favorite brands are hard to find, or gone from the shelves. In their place are poor brands, at high prices. Most shoppers do not want trendy items or hype, for example, you can't find your regular brand of plain corn chips but (their buyer must be a teenager) instead they have chipotle, Cajun or bubble-gum flavored corn ships. WF has a mission of supporting "fair trade", third-world, etc. This is only 'code' for replacing the good US brands that used to be on their shelves with lower-quality goods and outsourcing labor. How about the idea of supporting small US growers and small businesses? Not trendy, I guess. We still find a few of our items in WF, but spend a lot more time shopping in other organic & GF stores.

Whole Foods Market Customer Care Review from New York, New York

I was just at whole foods in TriBeCa in NY, I was looking to buy some bob cream, when I noticed a tall African man using several of the products , I realized he was a homeless person!! Next I moved over to the deodorant section and he followed me over and proceeded to use the deodorant !! I complained and was told there as nothing they could do!!! Are you kidding me !!! The customer has to pay and homeless people can have a freebies !! I find the TriBeCa store very lax and staff asleep at the wheel , there seems to be no management there what soever!!! Very disappointing !!

NASTY SECURITY

Good afternoon, Your buffet section is the best, so it troubles me to continue making complaints to your company. Yesterday i visited your union square location (06/14/16 at 8 p.m, and i felt publicly humiliated by this location "head of security". As my boyfriend and i explored the options of different types of food we were approached by a random gentleman who did not introduce himself as head of security or that he represented whole foods market. He started to yell at me in a demeaning tone of voice and continued to make a public notation of how we were handling our food. I felt so degraded and humiliated that i literally put my food down and so did my boyfriend and went to find a manager, A sales associate refused to let me speak to a manager claiming that they were all in a meeting at the time. So i called the whole foods customer service number and again i was being toyed with, i spoke to Eric and he transferred me over to a gentleman who claimed his name was "Hakeem". I've worked customer service for 6 years at the Empire State Building and this was the most obnoxious encounter I have ever experienced. I would just like a formal apology or at least for someone to rectify the situation for retraining purposes.

Tell everyone you know about this bad experience, and continue to make it as widely known as possible. Stores increasingly don't seem to care about customers at all; they really don't seem to care if customers are treated badly.

Tell your experience on every consumer complaint site you can find, and make it as widely known as possible. Write a complaint to Whole Foods corporate office (they probably won't do anything but issue a standard, boilerplate response, but at least you'll know you tried).

Misleading Policies That Cost me $79.00 and Being Bullied By Management

I bought a green supplement that a store representative assured me I could return after I tried it on 7/4/15 any time, with or without receipt & no questions asked. I tried to use it for months but the taste was impossible to mask so I returned it and was told out policy changed and you can't get a credit or refund. I spoke to 2 corporate managers and they behaved immature and unprofessional. They asked why I waited so long to return product, why I did not have receipt and said they posted signs at the cash registers forfeiting their policy to their customers. So they lie to decrease the risk in returning a product and then when you feel comfortable they take your money and post signs a few months later stating they do not honor their policy. If you do not shop their every week or every month you lose your money. They sound sick and demonic when you talk to them on the phone.

I'd sell your stock immediately. I work in the natural products industry and this company is nothing short of a ***-show compared to other natural retailers. I know many people who have recently sold their stock.

Very bad management customer service

I shop at whole foods on the Eastside on Waterman Street in Providence nearly everyday. While I am not a billionaire I am sure I have spent about a billion dollars there. Heck everyone there pretty much knows me and my child when I come in. On Thursday I bought $90 worth of whole body products. I realized when I got home that I didn't want a couple of the products, including the vitamin D drops that turned out to be not age appropriate for my NOT quite 3-year-old. The drops were recommended to me by a Whole Body employee (normally read the label in the store; but unfortunately I read it after the fact this time). Yesterday I go in the store to buy edible groceries and return these two products with my 2-year-old in tow. The first manager looks a little shifty (she seemed new) and calls for another manager that I see regularly. The "regular" manager informs me of a new policy for Whole Body products NOT VISIBLY POSTED for the customer, where a receipt is required for even store credit. She then tells me that I have to go over to the Whole Body section and find almost $20 worth of new whole body merchandise that I don't need, with my 2-year-old that the manager can see is trying to climb out of her seat and stand in the cart. I never carry my receipts really because I shop there everyday pretty much and this has never been a problem. The manager says this is the only way, and that the policy was effective August 7, 2015. Otherwise I have to take these two brand new unwanted products home and bring them back when I am ready to exchange them evenly for other whole body products. I am flustered at this point and very tired, but "Ok," I say to her. I head over to whole body and begin this tortuous process of trying to find enough products to match the exchange; and then after a few minutes with one lonely product of $6 that I already have at home, I head back to her to ask her if I could use a credit toward the pediatric probiotic that I ordered on Thursday that isn't in yet. "No," she says. I again ask her, "Is this the only way?" She says, "yes." I then ask her, "How is this suppose to work? Am I suppose to go over and find product to match exactly the amount of the product I am exchanging? or risk losing money? How does this work?" She finally concedes that she will offer me store credit just this one time. What the *** was wrong with her doing that in the first place? You'd think I was a hardened criminal, with the way she was treating me. Shame on me for changing my mind on two brand new unopened products and not being aware of their NEW Whole Body return policy that IS NOT VISIBLY POSTED. I go home and look online for this new policy. I find that the new policy state that no exchanges, returns or credits will be allowed without a receipt, effective January 2016. So, essentially I was put through the ringer for a poorly quoted policy and treated like some sort of subhuman because the NEW Policy isn't visibly posted for the customer, and without being given the benefit of the doubt! And really, seriously anybody who has ever taken a toddler grocery shopping, would have more mercy than this if only for one time.

Something about this complaint is suspect: If you shop there almost everyday and have spent practically a billion dollars in that store, as you claim, than you should have had no problem in finding $20 worth of merchandise in the Whole Body section to do an even exchange. It seems you are acting like this refund/exchange policy is personally all about you, but it's not, I assure you.

#1138878

Sorry to inform you but you are not as special as you think you are. The rules actually do apply to you.

Being posted online, accessible to a worldwide audience, seems quite "visibly posted" to me.

Don't like it? Go take your ill-behaved toddler and non-receipted returns and shop at Walmart!
