Incoherent return and exchange policy
WFM claims that they have a policy of no return or exchange for the WFM gift card sold in any of their stores. However, that policy is no where to be found in their stores, on the actual receipt, or in the back of the physical card!
I don't understand how come a company of their magnitude have such incoherent policy about return and exchange. I still have a case number waiting for the global office to get back to me.
It has been 6 days since I filed the complain with no response. When I tried to contact global office directly, their only customer service option will reroute me back to the place where I filed the complain.
Amazon has ruined good thing. empty shelves of olive oil for days, less choices of meats and other products.
Outrageous!
Whole Foods Market - Bacon Review
Preferred solution: Full refund
Resolved: I feel I was treated badly, and I feel I'm being deceived.
I would like to update my review. Today I was contacted by Julie of customer service from Whole Foods Market in Vancouver.
She apologized to me on behalf of the company, as well as made restorations for the situation they caused. She did confirm that my gift cards...
I asked to speak to the manager and Leslie Wallace came up and said the gift cards were fraudulent and would not even attempt to scan them. I asked her to call someone above her, and she said she was in charge, and there was no need, and would not do so. I paid for my purchase with cash and credit card and came home and called The Whole Foods Corporate phone number which I got from their official web site. (512)477-****, and then keyed in the gift card prompt for gift card support.
I spoke with Beverly at approximately 3:00 o'clock Washington time. She verified both cards were indeed issued by Chase Bank as rewards, each had 100 dollars on them available. She said the store manager had no business deciding whether the cards were valid or not, and should have called Corporate to validate them. Beverly said she would call the store manager to let her know they were valid.
I called the store back at 3:12 p.m., asked to speak with a manager, and Leslie came to the phone. I asked her to call your Corporate office and verify the validity of my gift cards and she told me "I don't have to do that, because they are fraudulent". Why in the world would I ask her to call Whole Foods corporate office if they are fraudulent???????? I spend approximately 800 dollars a month EVERY SINGLE month at this store purchasing a special kind of meat for my dog who suffers from a deadly stomach ailment.
This is how the local store management treats customers? I asked her why she did not call Corporate when I was standing in line, trying to pay and her answer was that "I don't have to because they are fraudulent". So here I am with 200 in gift cards, which Whole Foods Corporate office deemed valid, and the store manager still won't take them. To say the least this was unnecessarily embarrassing to me, in the line at the store, as I feel that Leslie was talking down at me, and the customers behind me in line scowled at me and said the word "thief.
I believe that was caused by how this manager was talking at me. The store has wasted 1 1/2 hours of my time (I live 45 minutes away from this store), and the store manager is holding 200 of my money hostage. Legitimately, with Corporate telling me the cards are good, whose the thief? I called the store again at about 5:45 p.m.
and spoke with Leslie again, and she was trying to verify that these numbers are indeed valid, but had not been able to. I grilled her for about 3 minutes, and insisted I could not believe this as when I called Corporate, I got through to them within 30 seconds, and it took Beverly all but 40 seconds or so to confirm their validity. After confronting Leslie, she admitted that she did INDEED CONFIRM THE CARDS ARE LEGITIMATE NUMBERS, BUT SHE WOULD STILL NOT ACCEPT THE GIFT CARDS. As the story changed, then it became a problem that the cards had "remove before use" stickers on them.
When I told her they all come that way, she then changed her story and said "oh no, that's the wrong kind of sticker on your cards". She requested I get her pictures of the cards, which I did and she verified she received, and told me she would continue to look into the matter tomorrow. She said she had to forward the pictures to her Corporate office at your Corporate office's request because the cards I presented did not come from Whole Foods. I promptly called back Gift card services, from the phone number on the Corporate website and spoke with Mary, and requested reimbursement for these cards as the store manager is refusing to honor them, and was told Corporate over getting me a refund because they are issued by a third party, NOT FROM WHOLE FOODS.
As you can see, the story is 'EVOLVING" and changing between the people at Corporate and the store manager. Corporate says the cards are issued by a third party and the store manager says they are ONLY issued by Whole Foods. I feel like this is deceptive business practices, I will be calling and writing Chase Bank as well to let them know what is happening.
I hope you can appreciate my frustration. I want these cards honored, as Whole Foods corporate says they should be.

Worse experience with online ordering of food
Worst experience I ever had in my life. I ordered food on-line for Thanks giving, I received confirmation email with order number.
I have my whole family came for Thanks Giving dinner. When my husband went to store to pick up on Thanks Giving day, store is closed. I called customer service who took all the info and simply said, sorry perhaps computer glitch?? and he said I will get a call soon to follow up.
No one called and to our surprise, our Credit card is charged full amount. When I called store, response we got is if you come to store, we will credit your money. No one took responsibility for what happened. I have 20 people in the house who had worse day of Thanks Giving.
all store want to do is credit my money but not taking responsibility, not even sorry. I have ordered many times at other places for Thanks giving, never had this kind of experience. Needless to say, I would never visit this store.
Be careful to order at this place. prepare for disappointment and have a back up plan.

Forget the rude service
Dear John Mackey First i say forget the rude service! its the worst when I'm here in Florida.
I am blessed to shop where and when from Florida to California but the integrity of food you serve in your deli prepared and hot bar alone is jaw dropping. For example fried pig skin! You call them chicharones. Pig skin fat known to have natural occurring parasites and carcinogens, fried in more fat is why 2 out of 5 people have diabetes and congenital heart disease.
You serve dead meat over vegatable choices more than ever, but pig fat, this should never be consumed. Also you claim canola oil to be organic and non-gmo, when in fact Canola Oil (Oil of Canada) was modified before wholefoods was ever born. Now your calling it organic. It is well know in the health community as a modification of rape seed.
Your store is beyond the robots that run and service them. You've become a glorified Publix, with the Walmart mentality. This is not a complaint anymore, but the end of my journey with a corporate company that is either in bed or highly influenced by the heavy-handed marketing tactics of big food companies. Stop referring to yourselves as real food because your not.
There are many mom and pop natural food markets that deserve the title. You are not and haven't been for decades.
Preferred solution: Never shop with you again and writing about it
The Worst Customer Service
digested a foreign substance in soup I purchased
On July 27th 2017 at approximately 1 p.m. I purchased some soup at the Whole Foods Market near Bryant Park as I begin to take phones spoonfuls of the soup, I realize the unfamiliar substance I pulled it from my mouth and it was a piece of rubber plastic real thin seems like a balloon of some sort I return to customer service and showed the Shift Leader John.Stamatinos the item and explained what had occurred.
I explained that my concern was because I had digested some of the material that it might be harmful to me and I would like to know what that material was. I gave him a piece of the substance and ask him to call me back and let me know what the material was that I had ingested. A day later I received the email from him asking for a photo of my receipt and a photo of the material which I had already given him. Since then I have not heard back from him.
I work two blocks from the store and it's a healthy place to eat and very convenient for me but since then I have not been back to that Whole Foods store or any other Whole Food store. I have not noticed anything in my bowel movement that may resemble the material that I digested so I am seriously concerned.

Racist Security Guard Profiling
Whole Foods market, Westwood Store in Los Angles, has an overly zealous, bigoted security guard. On several occasions, including today ( 9/24/2017- about 3:00pm), I watched the security guard intimidate what appeared to be a homeless, African American woman.
The guard aggressively, blatantly, unapologetically and defiantly "trailed" the woman. He took a military stance, with his arms crossed at the top of EACH aisle that she shopped. He had the audacity to walk by her and stand several feet away on two instances. I have witnessed this behavior several times by this same security guard.
It's African American youth, African American men that have dreadlocks, AA men dressed in hip hop attire, seemingly homeless African American people........ I'm stunned each time this occurs. Enough is enough! Stop profiling!!
Treat EACH shopper with respect. Stop the intimidation!
I reported this to the manger on the floor, Rich. And Whole Foods, while you're addressing this issue, hire African American people.

Newport Beach Whole foods
I have been coming to Wholefoods in Newport Beach for Many years as Newport Beach has one of the Nicest Outdoor Mall's Fashion Island Mall owned by the Irvine Company . Newport Beach has a very thriving income that has some of the Top Stores to shop and Restaurants to eat when you walk into one of the Many places you will always see very well dressed Management that knows how to handle themselves with integrity that has a thriving business .
On . 3/29/17 . I went into Whole Foods early in the Morning to get a few things for breakfast as I have for a few years . Waiting for the breakfast to come out by the Kitchen Staff I noticed a cook out in the Pizza area with the Breakfast egg and cheese Biscuits as I was drinking my coffee .
I Noticed He was handling them with out Gloves with his bare hands and not that he wasn't using any kind of protection " Gloves" on his hands . Not knowing if he washed his hands or how dirty has hands had been before he touched the breakfast Biscuits that just didn't look healthy or would it to anyone else if they saw what I saw . The cook had a black beard and was talking to another female employee and not Noticing that he was not wearing plastic gloves that is a health Violation . I Noticed that I did see a lady Supervisor that didn't Notice the cook not wearing plastic glove's because she was chatting with another manager instead of doing her job .
I will not be eating breakfast egg biscuits anymore ! On 3/30/17 As always I take one of my employees out for lunch as we walk over to Wholefoods across the street because it is close healthy food . Walking in I've noticed that the Management has gotten very "Sloppy looking" how they dress allow me to express my views.. We order food at the front Counter I look over the Counter to order some Salad a very large lady that is wearing a "Black baseball cap" with "messy hair" under the hat and a "Black T shirt that has a "Superman" on with black Cargo pant's on .
Her name tag was Christina the Woman doesn't "Smile" and wears "No Make" and has such a very bad attitude over the counter you could feel it !!! She has a major lack of "Customer Service" that is "seriously disgusting" . She lacking anything but class and should not be a Manager so either her boss is her best friend and that is how she got the job or they can't find anyone with class and since of hygiene . The Younger lady Next to Christina seemed to be Another Manager as she wasn't dressed Appropriately with it looked school Surfer girl with a pony tail and a phone hanging off her hip .
As I was waiting I noticed that they both are talking very bad about someone that works at the Store we could both hear the Conversation both Managers were having it didn't seem like whom they had been talking that they had it out for them Personally Speaking . I've Been a Whole foods Shopper that spends his money and allot of my friends work in the Fashion Island mall eat there as well . I find it very displeasing too see Managers act like this I am very Appalled how these two female Managers had been acting that Whole foods doesn't take any pride or Value on how someone who is suppose to be representing this Company acts this way . So inappropriate to say the least !!!!!!
This Moment doesn't stop as my employee and myself walk over to the Pizza area that Whole foods has we Notice a Employee " Coughing" Abrasively and not Covering her mouth .. The Employee came from the Back kitchen as we "Stopped" we both Noticed as she walked back into the swinging back Double doors looking into the Little Windows that the Woman that was a very large female that she was"Coughing it Sounded like a deep Congested Phlegm cough Coming out of her in the back Kitchen Area . My Employee and I Both said " HOW DISGUSTING CAN YOU BE" The Lack of being that you don't know one of your employees are Possibly that Sick and she is in the back of the Kitchen Coughing all over the food . She was Coughing near the Pizza area as well and not anything to help her stop the germs flying .
That is a health department Violation I'm wondering what Else could be a health Violation in this store and if I am seeing this my feelings are I am not the only person who feel's the same way . To the Wholefoods Management for Wholefoods of Newport . "TAKE THIS SERIOUS OR NOT" Before You loose more people from eating or buying foods at your store . I would "Clean house" and remove some Management that "Misrepresents" your company and the Lack of Hygiene and being respectful Customer Service .
Wholefoods should follow these rules .. 1, Better Service and Customer Service . 2, Management that has a better dress code and better hygiene. 3, Knowing when a employee staff member is sick so they don't effect the food .
4, Having a Successful Business is also having a Successful happy Staff. 5, The lack of a having a immature unprofessional Management that treats their Staff with a lack of respect. What I mean by that is that I could hear two Managers having a open personal issue on the floor about a employee that it seemed that they had a issue . And did not know that people next to them had been listening or could hear the conversation ..
I will keep going into whole foods and the more I see I will be writing about these concerns I will keep writing until either I see changes or I will be contacting the health department plus a few others . Concerned Newport customer .

If you bought LightLife tempeh 3 grain ($2.99) recently, check your receipt. It was rung up as LightLift Fakin' Bacon ($4.69).
I caught this on Feb. 13, 2020.
I would contact Chase and tell them what is happening and request they do something about it---like cancelling out the cards, re-establishing your rewards credits so you can use your rewards for something that can actually be used. Chase said these things were valid, they are not, so it is Chase's responsibility to correct the problem.
Forget about Whole Foods entirely and shop elsewhere. But, have Chase correct the problem, not you.
